Top of the Hub

3/13/10
Top of the Hub with my girl friends for a girls night out before spring break!
Our reservation was at 8:00pm for the high reservation demand at this restaurant.
The scenery was beautiful -- we faced outside facing Charles River, MIT, and Harvard. The waitor first "showed" us around Boston as we took a seat at our table.

The restaurant was energetic with lots of customers. Many couples and family, too (on a Wednesday night!). It wasn't too loud or anything, but it was perfect.

Bread: white bread and brown bread with raisins. Surprisingly the white bread was better.

First course:
Romaine wedge Creamy herb dressing, Cherry tomato, Crispy Westphalian Ham
It was just a typical salad that was put together elegantly. The romaine lettace was very fresh and crispy, though.
or
Tomato Bisque Great hill blue cheese fritter
The blue cheese is not a big part of it. Bisque over the salad, for sure.

Second Course:
Seared scallops. Warm fingerling potato salad, salsa verde, chorizo emulsion
The scallops were AMAZING. Nicely roasted and it was perfect. The potato salad wasn't something like a potatoe salad. Roasted sliced potatoes with herbs.
or
Grilled colorado 12oz lamb chop. Roasted garlic, calamata olives sauce, spinach and goat cheese lasagna
None of us had this.
or
Hand cut tagliatelle pasta. Shrimp scampi, parmesan cream, basil lemon oil.
My friend added salt to it and that added a lot of flavor to it.

Dessert:
Creme Brulee
Great. Big. Very sweet, though. My friend couldn't finish it all beacuse it was so rich. Vanilla beans visible!
or
Cherry napoleon. Kirsch brandy anglaise
The pie crust wasn't the greatest. But I did like the cheese and the cherry part of it.
